Photography Equipment
Shooting with Canon's 40D has been a rewarding experience, as I am continually amazed by its results. In combination with Canon's 16-35mm f2.8 L and 70-200mm f2.8 L IS lenses, I have been able to capture everything from wide open landscapes to distant and skittish wildlife. For underwater photography I use a Sony DSC-P200 point-and-shoot with an Ikelite underwater housing.
I have also recently acquired a Canon Digital Rebel XT, and by removing the hot filter (blocks infrared light) and replacing it with LifePixel.com's color infrared filter (allows only infrared light to pass) I have created a dedicated Infrared camera.
I now shoot almost exclusively in RAW format, allowing for the capture of more detail and for more versatility in the digital darkroom. My workflow often includes only minor tweaks to tone and saturation. For editing and post-processing I favor Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop CS3 (especially for infrared workflow), and Noise Ninja.
